Christmas + Holiday Style

I love this time of the year for so many reasons, and being able to start wearing boots and layers is definitely one of them. Adding layers is also a fun and simple way to add style and warmth to your look. Since here in Florida our winter is really more of a fall, one of my go to looks during this time is a flowy skirt such as this liquid leather skirt, worn with a festively red plaid long sleeve top, knee high bots and a chic belt to tie the look together with. Then adding the one piece of jewery that brings this looks dressy factor up from 3 to 10 the instant you put it on. It's not called the Deco Drama for no reason, it truly adds that extra oomph to anything it's added to. I love the versatily of being able to wear it with a cotton tee and jeans or with a plaid shirt and skirt and have it complete the look instantly. That's one of the main reasons I love jewery so much, it's like the icing on top of the cake for your outfit. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving with their family and happy shopping for the weekend! There is also a big 30-40% off sale on a lot of the jewelry on my online boutique to get your holiday shopping off to a beautiful + sparkly start!!

All The Way Back To Health With Aveda

I've been on a journey back to the health of my hair for about a year now and the reason being is that I used to get my hair heavily highlighted every 6-8 weeks. Bleach takes a toll on the hair and after a while, it causes it to continue breaking off. In my case, it was even more so because when you have naturally dark hair, lifting it up so many shades to make it so light makes it become straw like after a while. In addition to coloring, most of us love to over use our blow driers, straighteners, curling wands and products to style our hair exactly how we want it. For primitive health we must also remember to give the heating tools a break here and there in order to allow the hair to breathe. This is not an easy thing for me to do, but at least 1 day a week, let your hair air dry and do a reconstructing deep conditioning mask.

So to start off the healing process, the best thing to do is to cut off all the damage (in my case it was 5 inches) and to start again. Aveda has been with me from day one of my intense road to recovery and to happy and healthy tresses again. These products have made a world of a difference for me. I started to see a drastic improvement in the overall health of my hair within the first week and it's even growing faster then when I was having it processed with bleach so often.

There are a few products on the market that are real miracle workers and Aveda is at the top of that list for me. Most of the products I use are from the Damage Remedy line such as the reconstructing shampoo + conditioner, and my all time favorite beauty product the damage remedy reconstructing conditioner. For the styling, I love the Pure Abundance prep spray. As a heat protector I use the Brilliant Damage Control spray. You can see a noticeable difference in the softness and feel of your hair from the first time you use these products. I also like to do a deep conditioning treatment using 100% pure coconut oil once a week. That repairs the hair shaft from the inside out.

My final step was going to Dorjon Aveda Salon Town Center Mall  and getting my hair matched precisely to my natural dark brown color. It was done 6 months prior at another salon, but my previous hair color was fading. It feels great to go back to the color that God gave me. I've been tempted quite a few times to just add some subtle highlights but then I would recall that every time I did that, I would eventually end up becoming way lighter then I should be in order to maintain the health and integrity of my hair. Breakage would always be following that decision shortly after. So, if you are in hair rehab yourself from over processing now or are thinking of ways to bring your hair back to life, then look no further then your nearest Aveda store. Their hair color is superior to anything else out there and way healthier for you hair. Wishing you all great hair days ahead because we all know that you can never really have a bad day when your hair looks amazing!
